Notes: | Although this EP was recorded by the original lineup in 1982, it was not released until 1983, by which point Tommy K had been replaced by Jon, and Mike Mansfield had temporarily left the band. Because the band photo intended for the cover did not come out well, a new photo was taken, featuring from left to right: Chris, a mannequin, Steve, and Jon. The original cover photo was never used. The cover art was done by Glenn Danzig. |

Notes: | This compilation features a very early instrumental Mourning Noise recording, as well as a Suburbicide song with Steve Zing as the guest drummer. An early advertisement claimed that "Noise Records is now working on a second international hardcore compilation entitled Meathouse. It will be a double C60 cassette of up-and-coming bands from the U.S., Canada, and Europe." Instead, Version Sound released Meathouse 1, but never followed it with a sequel. A printing mistake caused The Scapegoats to be listed as a song by Red Scare and the two songs by The Scapegoats to be listed instead as one song ("I Like The Street" by The Fingers). |

02/__/1981 | Steve met Tommy K (also known as Tommy Neo), who had played in Suburbicide before Steve recorded with the band. 06/23/1984 | Mourning Noise played its last show at The Ritz in New York, NY. After this show, Mourning Noise disbanded, as Steve and Pete had already joined Samhain. Joe Olivetti became Samhain's tour van driver and roadie. |
