   Hugely popular on the east coast, The Misfits have accumulated only a
cult following elsewhere with their compelling brand of churning, hardcore
rock.  What's more, 3 Hits from Hell may be the perfect introduction to
their imminent American tour, describing areas of ghoulish fantasy even
The Cramps pale to mention.
   Standards of production, songwriting, and performance approach their
highest levels since the explosive Horror Business EP.  The Misfits deserve
special commendation for the brooding composition, "London Dungeon," which
features the most evocative and agonized lyrics I've heard all year.
   Highly recommended!
