1 Cough/Cool
2 She
Format: 7" Single.
Pressing: 1st: 200 copies.
According to legend, these bootleg copies were pressed by
Curtis Casella of Taang! Records in the early 1980s and
then incorrectly attributed to Glenn Danzig and/or Bomp
Records from California. These bootlegs are virtually
identical to the original pressing, down to the matrix
etchings. Differences from the original include:
1) Vinyl is much thinner than original press. When
held up to the light, the vinyl is actually a
translucent charcoal brown. Original copies are
completely opaque and nearly twice as thick.
2) Sleeve is glossy instead of semi-gloss, and has
less detail. Very slight vertical lines (from
photocopy machine) can be seen on front cover.
3) Bootleg center labels are poorly made. The labels
were traced with a black line and then cut with
dull scissors. This is especially evident along
the inside of the center hole.
4) Bootleg matrix includes additional etchings which
have been scratched out.
5) Outer edge of bootleg vinyl is tapered off and
comes to a point, whereas original copies are
flat at the edge.
2nd: 500 copies with photocopied sleeve.
Band is listed as The Ghouls on center labels.
3rd: 500 clear or black vinyl copies released in France.
Band is listed as The Un-fits on center labels.
4th: Available with blank white or "The Ghouls" center labels.

BULLET

Plan 9: PL 1001 1986
Listless Recordings: LR2 1989
001 1989
Plan 9: PL 1001A 1989
1 Bullet | We Are 138
2 Attitude | Hollywood Babylon
Format: 7" EP.
Pressing: 1st: Black vinyl copies with gatefold sleeve.
These bootlegs are amazingly similar to the original 1st
pressing with only very slight differences:
1) Front cover of original is silkscreened. Bootleg
copies are not silkscreened; the red and black
colors were printed at the same time. The black
and white colors on the bootleg are glossy, whereas
original sleeves are a matte white color with black
and red ink silk-screened over.
2) On the original, there are 4 to 5 intro grooves
before "Bullet" actually starts playing. Bootleg
copies have no more than 2 intro grooves.
3) Center labels on the original are glossy. Bootleg
labels are less glossy and the smaller text is
slightly blurrier.
4) Handwritten matrix etchings vary from original in
spacing.
2nd: Black or yellow vinyl copies released in UK with band
photo back cover and imitation insert. Distributed by
Sub Rosa.
3rd: Red vinyl copies with "Better Dead On Red" back cover
released in UK, although sleeve says West Germany.
4th: Red or black vinyl "Better Dead On Red" sleeve copies
released in Japan. Vinyl is identical to the official
pressing, except in the matrix etching: bootleg copies
include "MASTERDISK" in the matrix etching. Sleeve is
cardboard.
Session: [01//1978 C.I. Recording]
Notes: The imitation inserts included in the Listless Recordings
bootleg are often sold separately as real lyric sheets. The
bootleg sheet was apparently based upon a photocopy of the
original lyric sheet. The bootlegger then changed the color of
some of the graphics and re-typed the lyrics. Differences from
the original include:
1) Bootlegs include an obvious typographical error: "the
dint's gonna be" appears on the bootleg instead of "the
dirt's gonna be" - this is due to a small blood splotch
under the "r" in "dirt" on the original lyric which,
when photocopied in black and white, makes the word look
like "dint."
2) Misfits logo on bootleg is red instead of black.
3) Bullet hole in Kennedy's forehead on bootleg is red
instead of black.
4) Blood splatters on bootleg are larger and slightly
misplaced.

2nd: Black vinyl copies with imitation insert released in UK.
Session: [01//1979 C.I. Recording]
Notes: The Plan 6 bootleg comes with an imitation insert. Differences
from the original include:
1) Bootleg copies include a typographical error:
"Note esp. Teenagers From Mars" appears on bootleg, but
"note esp.Teenagers From Mars" appears on original.
2) Bootleg inserts are re-typed with slightly larger font
and less space between words.
3) Bootleg inserts have a dark black, grainy back side, but
original copies have a lighter black, smooth back.

2nd: 500 copies with Blue and white cover released in Sweden.

incomplete due to poor editing.
4th: Released in West Germany.
5th: Green vinyl.
6th: Band is listed as The Hate Breeders on center labels.
7th: Red marble or black vinyl copies.
Bootleg is an almost perfect copy of the original, except
for inclusion of "Return Of The Fly" (song not listed on

Notes: Almost identical to the original, this bootleg is commonly sold
as the real thing. Differences from the original include:
1) "Beware" at top is not flush with edge of cover.
2) Cover is darker, almost entirely black and white, and
contains very few gray tones.
3) Center label on record can be peeled off to reveal a
generic white bootleg center label.
4) There is a slight white edge on the lower part of the
the cover.
5) Side 2 reads "mix" instead of "max" in matrix etching.

Pressing: 1st: 500 copies with black and white or black, white, and

2) Bootleg sleeve is 1/4" smaller than original.
3) Original sleeve has a small white smudge in the
black border on the upper right side. Bootlegs
have the smudge on the outside of the border
instead of the inside.
4) Purple and black colors on bootleg center labels
are lighter than original.
5) Bootleg copies have "PL - 1015A" in A-side matrix,

2 London Dungeon | All Hell Breaks Loose | We Are 138
Format: 7" EP.
Pressing: 1st: 1000 black vinyl copies released in Europe.
This bootleg is extremely similar to the Fiend Club edition
of the real EVILIVE 7". It has a thick paper sleeve with
the live photo on the cover, a yellow center label, and a
small center hole. Bootleg copies are all numbered 512 or
542 in ink which can be rubbed off to reveal that the sleeve
is a photocopy of the original sleeve #512. The cover is not
cut exactly as the original is, with a slight overlap. The
cover also lacks some of the detail of the original; it is
difficult to see the Crimson Ghost on the guitar amplifier
on the front cover of the bootleg.
2nd: Has regular version cover, large center hole, gatefold
sleeve.
Live: [11/20/1981: On Broadway; San Francisco, CA) (songs 6-7)
