John Christ

John Christ

John, born 02/19/1965, grew up in Maryland and attended the Peabody Academy of Music before auditioning for Samhain in February 1987. He was the final guitarist for the band and had joined as part of Rick Rubin's plan for creating a new super group. John's work is only featured on the first side of the Final Descent LP. After this recording was made, the band changed its name to Danzig. John also played with Glenn Danzig And The Power And Fury Orchestra. After Danzig, he went on to record solo material. Besides releasing solo guitar pieces on several compilation albums, John did uncredited guitar work for several ABC TV trailers such as "Passion For Justice" and "A Place For Annie." He also did guitar work for "Stranger By Night," "Other Men's Wives," "Sex Freaks," and "New Wave Hookers 4." He later briefly played with Juice 13. His song "For Christ's Sake" is featured on the Guitar's Practicing Musicians Volume 3 album and he has written some soundtrack and TV movie pieces. Early autographs show that his original stage name was John Von Christ.
