Notes: | This was the first Def American release ever. Although "The Hunter" was originally recorded by Albert King, the song is mysteriously credited to Glenn Danzig. "Possession" begins with a Catholic prayer spoken backwards in Latin. The band photo for the LP and cassette formats is in color, whereas the CD photo is in black and white. |

Notes: | Geffen had its name left off the first pressing due to the band's image. The LP and cassette cover imitate the first Doors album. The US CD has a different cover and the insert unfolds into an inverted cross. According to Glenn Danzig, the word "lucifuge" means "to shun the light." The first pressing cassette inlay cards had lyrics in black ink on a white background; later pressings used white lettering on a black background. All cassette pressings come with an attached merchandise order form that is unavailable on other formats. For unknown reasons, the lyrics included with the CD differ slightly from those of the LP. and cassette. The Japanese version of the CD has a regular lyrics booklet in place of the inverted cross insert. |

Notes: | During the fall of 1993, Def American reissued this album with an unlisted studio remix of "Mother" done by the Louie Brothers. The only difference between the original CD issue and the CD. reissue with "Mother '93" can be found in the characters printed around the center hole. The original issue does not include the following characters after the album number: "RE-_" where "_" can be any character. "Mother '93" is track 93 on the CD. It begins 6 minutes and 66 seconds after track 7 ends. Tracks 8-92 are blank. |

Notes: | The live version of "Mother" supposedly taken from Thrall-Demonsweatlive is actually just the '93 remix with live crowd noise. To help promote the single, American Recordings distributed a page long band biography on colored paper that was folded and inserted into the CD sleeves. This "Danzig Handbook" was designed to give the band a more mainstream image. The "Danzig Handbook" was available on four different colors of paper, including purple. |
